Joey Prescott

Joey is beginning his tenth year of teaching as the Assistant Band Director at Moseley Middle School in Prosper ISD. Before moving to Prosper, he spent the previous nine years at Colleyville Middle School in GCISD, where he directed the Symphonic Band, assisted with the Honors and Concert Bands, and taught Beginner Brass classes. 

During his tenure at Colleyville, Mr. Prescott helped lead his students to numerous achievements, including three TMEA Honor Band Finalist submissions (2019, 2022, 2024). Under his assistance, the Colleyville Middle School Band also performed at the prestigious 2018 Midwest Clinic and Convention, in addition to consistently earning UIL Sweepstakes awards. In addition to being a band director, Joey has been teaching private lessons, masterclasses, and marching band since 2008 at a number of schools in the San Antonio, Austin, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. 

Joey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s Degree from Texas Christian University, where he served as the Graduate Assistant for the Trombone Studio. During his time in the UT trombone choir, he was blessed to travel and perform in France, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, and Spain.

As a freelance trombonist, he has performed with the Vintage 15 Big Band, Vendetta Big Band, Round Rock Symphony, San Antonio Wind Symphony, San Pedro Playhouse Pit Orchestra, Northeast Orchestra-Hurst, Frisco Jazz Band, Slideshow Trombone Choir, and Dallas Millennial Choir Orchestra. Joey is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and The International Trombone Association. His teachers include Rod Leonard, Ron Wilkins, Amanda Stewart, Dr. Nathaniel Brickens, and Dr. David Begnoche.
